My name is Renee Burns. I am the owner of a family owned business, Beads and Boba. I began selling jewelry at nine years old. My business was called something completely different, I only sold seed bead and clay bead bracelets, and I didn't sell on a website. I just had my $5 bead kit from the craft store and a dream. At around twelve years old, I began to take my business seriously. I started posting on social media, buying good supplies, and staying consistent. I ended up getting my first well performed video with about 1.5 Million views on Instagram and thousands of likes. Then, another video, and another. I knew from there that I had to keep going. I gained nearly 17,000 followers and it made my heart happy. However, at thirteen years old, everything changed. I was bullied terribly. Kids at my school screenshotted my account and called my racial slurs. I felt ashamed. I deleted all of my social media videos. I felt sad, and lonely. After a few months, I decided to come up with a rebrand. This rebrand would help other teens and just people in general become more confident in their own skin and circumstances. Never let anybody that doesn't add greatness to your story take over who you are. Beads and Boba represents confidence and self love. Fast forward to today, we are a thriving business. We have a Co-owner, DeAvia Burns, and an assistant, Jalaya Burns.
